Bullfix is the brainchild of Mark Howe, a builder by trade, who identified a gap in the market for a reliable plasterboard fixing that could be used across all types of plasterboard.

Since launching on Amazon in 2021, the business has received significant investment from Wilko and is now featured online and instore. It is also featured on B&Q online, and has found success in the DIY space, with the brand aiming to expand further into the trade market.

Bullfix Universal fixings are suitable for dot and dab, stud walls, and insulation-backed plasterboard, with only a 7mm cavity required. The fixing screw hole is only lined up properly when the wings are fully deployed, so the fixing can’t be used unless it is properly inserted, making it "extremely reliable", the company says.

The Universal fixings will hold up to 116kg, making them suitable for hanging many radiators and boilers. The company also offers Bullfix Extra, which supports weights up to 133kg, however a larger 20mm cavity is required for this product.

Bullfix says it is the only fixing independently tested by FIRA (Furniture Industry Research Association), successfully passing stringent load tests for EN standards).
