Aico’s recent fire safety event in London has been welcomed by the capital’s social housing landlords as a valuable and informative event.
Held at the Kia Oval cricket stadium in London, the event was attended by 75 people from London based housing associations and local authorities. Visitors received a one-hour CPD presentation on the latest domestic fire safety standards and regulations, along with practical advice on alarm selection and siting within properties.
The main presentation was followed by three further sessions, the first looking at Aico’s range of technology, including AudioLINK data extraction, RadioLINK+ and future innovations.
Then, how and why to wirelessly interconnect alarms to third party safety devices such as Telecare/Warden Call devices, BS5839 Part 1 panel systems and sprinkler systems.
Finishing with a presentation from Jim MacDonald, Lead Officer Specialist Services, Communities/Housing Services at Fife Council on how the Council has benefited from integrating its fire alarms with Warden Call devices in its sheltered accommodation and HMOs.
“We’ve had considerable demand from Social Housing Landlords across London for training around fire safety” states Michael Wright, Marketing Manager for Aico. “As training and education is at the core of everything we do, we felt it was important to hold a large scale event to reach as many people as possible. The event has been so popular that we weren’t able to accommodate all those who wanted to attend, so we will be running a further event in December.”
Aico’s Mobile Training and Demonstration Units, launched earlier this year and enables Aico to deliver detailed Smoke and CO Alarm product and technology information, plus its CPD accredited Expert Installer training, right to customers’ doors.
