The Association of Plumbing & Heating Contractors (APHC) has launched a new website design, which the association says aims to provide users with a secure and user-friendly experience.

The new website has been optimised to work on smartphones and tablets as well as laptop and desktop computers.

John Thompson, Chief Executive of the APHC, said: “Our website has to fulfil a number of objectives for a number of different audiences and, while on first appearance over 50% of our site’s traffic comes from people using desktop computers, when you remove those members using the site to make gas installation notifications and Building Regulations notifications, this figure reduces dramatically."

According to John, via the password protected members’ area, the site provides 24/7 access to a library of documents, technical guides, business factsheets, editable templates, and model policies. Additionally, there is a fully developed 'Health & Safety Management System', which includes a health and safety policy statement, templates for general assessments, risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and work safety inspection records.

“The members’ area also hosts a free online learning facility of bite-size courses covering key business development areas such as understanding basic contracts, developing a quality management system, recruitment and selection of employees, and an introduction to business finances," concluded John.

The new website can be accessed at www.aphc.co.uk.
