Data released by online pharmacy, Instant eCare, has revealed that many working in the construction industry who suffer from depression and metal health related conditions are using CBD products to help, with nearly half of those surveyed citing financial worries as the trigger.
Online pharmacy, Instant eCare, conducted a survey of UK CBD users in order to gain a greater understanding of the attitudes behind purchasing CBD oil, vape oil or capsules, and to understand the health ailments these CBD products are being used to combat.
CBD stands for cannabidiol, the second most prevalent of the active ingredients of cannabis. While CBD is a component of marijuana (one of hundreds), by itself it does not cause a 'high', unlike the more well known and psychoactive chemical in cannabis, THC, which is a controlled substance under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.
CBD products were recently legalised in the UK and are now regularly used to assist with chronic pain relief and wellbeing disorders. The survey data released by Instant eCare revealed that a large percentage of those using CBD have jobs within the construction industry, with almost half of those in construction using CBD products to relieve stress.
Key findings include:
While 44% of those surveyed revealed they have been using CBD for less than a year, 55% foresee themselves continuing to use for a further 12 months. This data leaves Instant eCare to believe the popularity and demand for legal CBD use is certainly on an upward curve.
Sarah Morgan, Pharmacy Business Development Manager at Instant eCare, said “Clinical studies back-up the use of CBD hemp oil as a versatile health supplement said to aid minor pain, anxiety, or depression. Alternative remedies such as Cannabidiol is the next level of stress therapy and it is believed to carry a number of health benefits.”
Instant eCare conducted this survey in May 2019 of 300 people across the UK who already take some form of CBD product to find out how and why they take it, and to learn about the benefits (if any) they have experienced when using CBD supplements.
