Worcester Bosch has improved the efficiency of its Greenstar Ri boiler, ahead of the latest ErP Directive update relating to NOx emissions.

The changes to the ErP Directive on NOx emissions mandates that gas and LPG boiler emissions must not exceed 56 mg/kWh. The Directive applies to new boilers from 26 September 2018, meaning that from this date any boilers placed on the market must meet these new requirements.

Worcester has since upgraded its Greenstar Ri boilers to comply with the new regulations, so that installers can continue to install it with confidence.

Martyn Bridges, Director of Technical Communication and Product Management at Worcester Bosch, explains: “This necessary and important upgrade to the already A-rated Greenstar Ri boiler will mean lower NOx emissions to ensure that the new ErP Directive requirement is met with ease. The change will not affect installers in any way other than to ensure that they can continue to recommend and fit the boiler with peace of mind.”

As part of the Greenstar Ri upgrades, two new outputs, 9kW and 21kW will be introduced to join the 12kW, 15kW, 18kW, 24kW, 27kW and 30kW outputs already available.

Martyn concludes: “The boiler update demonstrates our commitment to leading the industry-wide push to lower emissions and increase efficiency. The Greenstar Ri will continue to be a popular choice amongst installers and homeowners alike.”
