The European Union Relationship and Industrial Strategy (EURIS) Taskforce has announced the addition of the British Pump Manufacturers Association (BPMA), taking the total number of EURIS member associations to 11.

The EURIS Taskforce is an advisory body representing industrial product suppliers covered by the Single Market. The Taskforce produces position papers relating to the Brexit process relevant to the manufacturing section. It is also an advisory body for the potential impacts of the changing relationship between the UK and EU for the UK Government, press and manufacturers.

Steve Schofield, Director and Chief Executive of the British Pump Manufacturers Association, said “The BPMA’s mission is to influence the pump sector business environment in the interests of members’ competitiveness and sustainability. In order to achieve this, we need to part of the conversation with government about what Brexit looks like for our industry – EURIS delivers this for us.”

Existing members include industry trade associations BEAMA, GAMBICA, the Engineering and Machinery Alliance, the Renewable Energy Association, the Federation of Environmental Trade Associations, the Manufacturing Technologies Association, the British Fluid Power Association, the Lighting Industry Association, and TechWorks.

Steve Brambley, EURIS Vice-Chair, said: “The EURIS Taskforce continues its expansion of recent months and now represents sectors with a turnover of £109 billion across electrotechncial, electronics, lighting, renewables and mechanical engineering products. EURIS’ continued growth reflects both the importance and the impact of the work we are doing on Brexit for the industrial product supply industry.”
