From 1 to 7 June the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering (CIPHE) will be joining organisations all over the country to celebrate Volunteers’ Week 2017.

Membership director Tim Sainty said: “The CIPHE wants to make the most of Volunteers’ Week by saying a big thank you to those members who dedicate their time and expertise to the Institute. We are lucky to have so many passionate people on board, who really care about the future of our Institute and the industry as a whole.”

Like many registered educational charities, the CIPHE relies heavily on volunteers from all walks of the industry. From participating in the CIPHE’s numerous working groups, helping to spread the word about membership, writing articles for the CIPHE’s publications, or taking on official voluntary roles on the board or at head office level, volunteers make a real difference to how the CIPHE operates.

Kevin Wellman, chief executive officer of the CIPHE, said: “During the last 12 months, the CIPHE has seen an increase in volunteers, which reflects the developments in our technical and membership activities and reinforces the adage that ‘charity begins at home’. My immense thanks go to all those who provide such proactive support to the CIPHE.”

Everyone has skills that they can put to good use in voluntary roles. If you are considering giving something back to the industry, the CIPHE has a wide range of roles available.
