The Olympic Stadium could provide work for plumbers when it is converted into a football ground for West Ham United.

The project is expected to cost between £90 million and £100 million. Bids are invited to carry out design and construction works to transform the stadium after the London 2012 Games into a multi-use venue with a 60,000-capacity for football matches.

West Ham and the London Borough of Newham have set up Legacy Stadium Partnership for the project. The successful bidder will design, plan and deliver the project by May 2014 in time for the next football season in August 2014.

The award of the contract depends on the 'special purpose vehicle' (SPV) completing a deal for the stadium with the Olympic Park Legacy Company.
