Construction companies from around Scotland have been invited to a free Meet the Buyer event in Edinburgh on 1 October to find out about upcoming work contracts.

Buyers already signed up to the event include contractor, Vinci, as well as the Scottish Government’s Public Contracts Division and the Scottish Building Federation.

Hadden Construction and Clarks Contracts will also be in attendance and will present their latest projects.

Constructionline, a procurement and supply chain management service, is hosting the event at The Corn Exchange in Edinburgh, which will provide small businesses with valuable introductions to procurement teams from large construction clients from across Scotland.

The event will see decision-makers from the organisations give presentations detailing the impending work opportunities, as well as providing attendees with advice on bidding for work.

Stephanie Lawrie, client relationship manager at Constructionline, said: “In our experience, contractors working in Scotland want to provide work for local small and medium size enterprises, and Scottish subcontractors are equally as eager to win these tenders.

“Our Meet the Buyer event in Edinburgh is designed to offer these local companies the chance to meet face-to-face with key procurement decision makers from top buyers in the region, helping them understand the selection criteria and how they can best apply.

“It’s a great opportunity for subcontractors in the area to hear about work they might not have otherwise had access to.”

The event will run from 8.30am until 2pm and suppliers do not have to be a Constructionline member to attend. To register for the event, visit: www.constructionline.co.uk/events.
