The National Skills Academy for Environmental Technologies has revamped its website to better service businesses looking to deliver renewable and low-carbon training.

Over the last 12 months, in addition to training, the National Skills Academy has launched a series of products and free guidance to help employers and installers make the most of 'green' business opportunities. Brought to the fore on the new website, visitors can now easily access the Academy's free Sales and Marketing Guide for SMEs, view the latest offers on its range of learner manuals and other literature, as well as any discounts with individual training providers.

The site also now clearly points consumers towards its Trained Installer Register, an online database of qualified tradespeople searchable by postcode. It also provides information on energy efficiency and its benefits and schemes such as the Green Deal.

Cathryn Hickey, executive director for the National Skills Academy, said: "The revamped website now better reflects how we serve both the industry and its customers. While our core activity is up-skilling installers to deliver environmental technologies, peripheral offerings – such as advisory guides, e-learning tools and the Trained Installer Register – have become increasingly important and help businesses maintain quality and continue learning in a way that suits their individual requirements.

"Our Trained Installer Register is a key marketing tool for the National Skills Academy's qualified installers and the new website clearly signposts this, assisting end-users and boosting business for the installers they find through it."
