APHC has once again called on its members and installers to take part in the Health & Safety Executive's (HSE) consultation on the revised content of the Approved Code of Practice (ACoP) L56 - safety in the installation and use of gas systems and appliances.

Following an initial consultation last year, it was agreed by the HSE that a number of ACoPs including L56 would be revised. HSE has worked with a number of industry stakeholders to develop the revised L56 draft and now invites views from installers who have until 30 July 2013 to submit their views.

John Thompson, APHC chief executive, said: “As in the previous consultation, I would urge all installers who work in the areas of gas installation, servicing, maintenance or repair of gas appliances, to look at the proposed revisions as some areas include significant changes. I would recommend all installers review these changes and complete the consultation questionnaire before the deadline.”
