The Association of Plumbing & Heating Contractors' sister company, APHC Training, is offering a new and improved training grant scheme for 2013.

The scheme is open to plumbing and heating companies, and offers £100 training grants to both members and non-menbers who want to keep an existing qualified employee up to date on their training.

John Thompson, chief executive of APHC, said: "We had such a fantastic response to the scheme in previous years that we wanted to extend the amount people could claim. We want to help people upskill and maintain a fully trained and qualified workforce during the continuing economic difficulties. I would encourage members and non-members alike to apply and claim their £100 grant today."

Any interested companies should email info@aphc.co.uk, adding ‘Training Grant’ in the subject line. They will then be emailed a form to complete and return for initial grant approval, which also details the scheme’s operating conditions.

The relevant forms can also be downloaded from the APHC website.

After they have completed a course, which must be done by the end of 2013, applicants must send a copy of their invoice from the training provider along with their certificate of successful completion of the course, and APHC will pay the £100 straight into their business bank account.

The £100 offer is available to anyone who claimed a grant during previous years.
