The recently formed Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) working group have formulated guidance consultation documents to help provide clarity for installation companies.

The guidance proposals are designed to make the competency criteria clearer and easier to understand, so companies can demonstrate compliance with the scheme requirements without too much complexity.

The guidance will address the competency requirements of companies who wish to join the scheme and how to maintain ongoing compliance as MCS approved installation companies.

This will include demonstrating the competence of those individuals involved in the supply, design, installation, set to work and commissioning of microgeneration systems for which the company is seeking certification.

Association of Plumbing & Heating Contractors (APHC) urge installers who are involved in the MCS to take a look at the guidance documents and feedback their responses.

All response forms should be submitted to the following email address with "competence criteria consultation response form" in the subject line mcsconsultations@gemserv.com.

The closing date for responses has been extended until 23rd July 2012 (5pm).
