Victaulic has announced the launch of its new Victaulic Series 124 Installation-Ready butterfly valve.

Bringing an innovative solution to an area of piping which has stayed stagnant for close to half a century, according to the company, the new butterfly valve will offer customers a host of benefits. Enabling 360-degree positioning for optimum flexibility and designed for a deliberately low profile in terms of weight and size, the Series 124 valve has been brought to market to bring simplicity where before there was complexity.

DJ Wolbert, Product Manager at Victaulic, said: “Flanged wafer valves have always been a sour point for the industry; not only do they have a lengthy installation process with the star-pattern tightening of the bolts and nuts, they also have a higher risk of misalignment and a cumbersome maintenance process. We believe an Installation-Ready valve presents a completely unique offer and alleviates existing problems as all installers have to do is push the valve on grooved pipe or fittings and tighten two bolts and nuts to complete the installation.”

Made with a stainless-steel disk and produced in Europe, the new valve is for use on stainless steel or carbon steel pipes. Incorporating both the valve and coupling functions into one product design, the customer can make additional savings by employing one product where previously three may have been required, the company says. Victaulic envisages the new valve to fit HVAC applications, as well as wider use in general industry.

The new model complements the recently released Series E125 Installation-Ready Butterfly Valve which was brought to market earlier this year. The difference between the Series E125 and the new Series 124 valve is that the latter is to be used on the OGS groove profile while the former uses the StrengThin 100 groove for thin wall stainless steel pipe.

Wolbert continued: “It’s about being able to provide the right valve for the right solution. By launching the Series E125 butterfly valve and now the Series 124 valve, our clients can not only benefit now from this unique valve design on thin wall stainless steel, but also on carbon steel pipe and stainless-steel pipe with a thicker wall schedule.”
