It’s ideally suited for homes with combi-boilers that don’t have room for a traditional hot water tank, according to the manufacturers.
As the demand for low carbon heating grows, the main challenge homeowners face, especially those with a fossil fuel combi boiler, is the lack of space to put in a low carbon heating solution and an additional hot water tank.
To overcome this, tepeo, manufacturer of the Zero Emissions Boiler (ZEB) has become a distributor for Sunamp’s Thermino heat batteries for hot water, allowing installers to buy the two products together and install them at the same time to work in harmony with one another. This offering provides a high-performance space heating and hot water system that requires less floor space than a traditional hot water tank and low carbon heating solution setup.
The ZEB from tepeo uses electricity to store heat at the cheapest and greenest times, which can then be used throughout the day when the thermostat calls for heat. Coupled with its smart charging algorithm, which forecasts heating demand by learning a home’s heating habits; its ease of install, taking 1-2 days; and the ability to work with existing heating systems, the ZEB offers a highly efficient, low carbon heating solution for homes, especially those that aren’t suitable for a heat pump, according to the manufacturer.
Sunamp, a leader in thermal storage, contributes its high performance phase change material technology, used in its Thermino range of latent heat batteries for hot water to replace bulky hot water cylinders. Together, the companies will deliver a unique combi-like heat battery solution that serves both space heating and hot water needs in homes.
