Until the 31st December, each time installers spend £50 on products from across the Honeywell Home range - from heating controls to radiator thermostats - at any James Hargreaves Plumbing Depot branch nationwide, Resideo will donate £2 to Band of Builders, up to a maximum donation of £10,000.
Band of Builders is a national charity started with the purpose of helping members of the construction industry when they need it most, whether that’s through hands-on projects, advice, and support, or just knowing people are out there to talk to when they need it most.
According to research carried out by Glasgow University for The Lighthouse Club, an estimated two UK construction workers die by suicide every day, while, in a survey jointly organised by the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA) and the Electrical Contractors Association (ECA), 90% of construction managers admited they have struggled with mental health.
As part of a year-long relationship with Band of Builders, this latest activity follows hot on the heels of Resideo’s sponsorship of the charity’s ‘The Big Brew’ events, which kicked off in October, and aimed to encourage tradespeople to reach out and talk, rather than suffer in silence.
Martin Wilson, Sales Director at Resideo, said: “The welfare and mental health of our tradespeople is such an important subject, and we are delighted to be able to offer our ongoing backing to the work being carried out by Band of Builders.
“By pledging to donate £2 for every £50 spent on our Honeywell Home products, installers can rest assured they are helping fellow tradespeople, simply by doing what they would normally do each day.
“The money raised in the run up to Christmas will be used to further the numerous projects the charity currently has underway; each one making a real difference to a tradesperson’s life whether it is simply offering someone to talk to or is part of a larger project.
“The Big Brew events Resideo hosted across the country at the start of the heating season were extremely well received and supported by installers, and we hope this next phase of activity will be just as successful in raising awareness and funds for this worthwhile cause."
