The capsule collection includes stretch trousers with detachable holsters, a stretch softshell jacket, cotton stretch T-shirts, and a hybrid bodywarmer alongside its core range of workwear trousers, fleece, soft shell and insulated jackets for women.
The number of women in trade increased 120% from 15,000 to 33,000 between 2009-2019, according to Direct Line for Business. Regatta Professional has seen a huge increase in demand for product designed specifically for women in recent years. Prior to launch, the brand invited tradeswomen to road-test and review the new products, with their feedback used to make alterations before bringing the range to consumers, ensuring high customer satisfaction when they hit the shelves in early October.
Sarah Whittaker, Brand Manager of Regatta Professional, said: “Our aim with this collection was simple. To work alongside real tradeswomen to see what they wanted and what works best for them on the job. Our products are designed to be functional, sustainable, and give women comfortable clothing solutions, that look great and perform.”
Regatta Professional worked with real tradeswomen for the launch of this collection from various trades to model the collection and put the items to the test in their specialist trade.
Regatta Professional says that accessible workwear is crucial for tradeswomen because it ensures safety, comfort, and performance on the job. Properly fitting clothing, designed for women’s bodies, allows for greater mobility and reduces the risk of injury, especially in demanding environments such as construction.
Traditionally, workwear has been tailored to men’s sizes, forcing women to wear ill-fitting, uncomfortable clothing that can hinder their effectiveness and create unnecessary discomfort. Accessible workwear empowers tradeswomen by enhancing their confidence, fostering equality in the workplace, and affirming that they belong in industries where representation has been historically limited.
