Kent construction companies are invited to meet decision-makers from Medway Council to find out about securing local work opportunities with its upcoming plans.
The free event hosted by Constructionline - the government-owned database of contractors - is beign held at the Corn Exchange in Rochester on Tuesday 9 September.
The council is seeking consultants and contractors to complete roofing, glazing, asbestos removal and general construction works. The event will showcase how businesses can submit bids for work on the frameworks as well as give general tender tips and information on how to use the Kent Business Portal, where opportunities will be advertised.
Victoria Chamlet, client relationship manager at Constructionline, said: “Contractors are keen to win work on large scale projects in their region and local authorities are increasingly striving to work with SMEs to deliver construction works. However it can be difficult for both groups to meet face to face.
“Events like this are at the heart of what we do – we want to help suppliers find and secure work and we want to make it easier for clients to find reliable and local construction companies.”
Carl Rogers, head of category management at Medway Council, said: “We’re keen to engage with local businesses in Kent to deliver a range of upcoming projects in the region and hosting an event like this helps us access a variety of suppliers in the area.”
Registration is advised to avoid disappointment. For more information or to register interest, go to www.constructionline.co.uk/events
