The only ‘by and for’ event for all skilled tradeswomen is back in London at a new, bigger venue on 6 July.

Taking place at The Great Hall. London Metropolitan University, Holloway Road, London, WIT is unique in the industry as an event for tradeswomen.

Women remain at a very small percentage of tradespeople, around 1% with heating engineers and electricians being even lower. This causes extreme isolation, with some tradeswomen never meeting other tradeswomen. The event was established in 2017 by Hattie Hasan who later received an MBE for her work helping overcome this isolation and bring tradeswomen together to celebrate their tenacity in an industry known for its toughness, high incidence of mental health issues, attrition, and worsening difficulties attracting new entrants.

WIT, organised and run by Stopcocks Women Plumbers, has grown since it began and is a completely independent event.

Hattie Hasan MBE is MC and Mandy Hickson, one of the first women fast jet fighter pilots, is a guest speaker at the event.

The event also features roundtable discussions, speakers from the floor in Five Minutes of Fame, and its ever-popular raffle and a free lunch.

Monument Tools is once again event partner, with Williams Trade Only Plumbing and Vaillant UK headline sponsors. New sponsors coming on board include Mark Vitow, ADEY, Rated People, Mira Showers, LCL Awards, JTL Training, and On The Tools, along with regular supporters Impey/Coram and Fernox.

Tickets are free for tradeswomen and sponsors. Tradesmen and company representatives who’d like to find out how they can support tradeswomen are very welcome and can buy tickets for £50.
