Customers simply scan and hire anything from the HSS Hire Guide using their smartphones for a quick and easy hire experience.

HSS Hire, a national supplier of tool and equipment hire and outsourcing services, has launched a smartphone App that it says makes it quicker and easier to hire than ever before with an ‘augmented reality’ function linked to its Hire Guide.

The HSS Hire Guide carries full product and service listings together with technical specifications and relevant Health and Safety information – all designed to help customers make an informed decision about the most suitable product for their requirements.

New for the 2013 edition is an augmented reality function which, when used in conjunction with the new App, offers customers easy on-the-go access to tools and equipment through their smartphones. Amid full listings, HSS Hire customers will see that every product image is now also an invite to ‘Scan and Hire’ for an augmented reality experience. When customers wave their smartphone over images with digital content, the ‘Scan to Hire’ function appears. They will then be taken through to the relevant product on the mobile website and can reserve equipment directly from their phone with just a few clicks.

The new App also includes a branch locator, a skip hire instant quote service and a link to the HSS mobile website, which is now fully iPhone and Android smartphone compatible.
