Introducing the new Baxi 400 2.1

Baxi’s upgraded Baxi 400 2.1 now packs more of a punch than ever, at no extra cost and with a five year warranty. Made in the UK, the new Baxi 400 2.1 was launched on 14 October to replace the previous popular 400 Combi 2 range.

The new range includes a higher 36kW model for improved flow rates and is built on the company’s B-basic platform which standardises features across the range, with a focus on continued modernisation and efficiency. It also means that despite the new features on the 400 2.1, installers will be familiar with the layout and overall workings of the boiler.

Installers will see a number of benefits that have been introduced including the convenience of manual LPG conversion, enabling installers to easily switch between natural gas and LPG without needing additional kits on the 400 range.

Improvements to the new range also includes a compact casing with integrated pipes behind the void for neat upward pipework, a metal (magnetic) front cover, and a pre-heated and siphonic condensate trap that helps prevent freezing during cold weather, minimising the need for emergency callouts.

External pressure gauge across the range

By listening to feedback on Baxi’s existing ranges, installers can now benefit from a re-instated pressure gauge visible on the exterior case on the new 400 Combi 2.1, as well as on the Assure 500, 600, 800 Combi, and System 2 boilers. This is a great new addition to the range, allowing easy self-top up to help reduce the need for engineer call outs, benefiting both the installer and homeowner.

Rob Pearse, Director of Distribution Sales at Baxi, said: “By producing the 400 2.1 on-site at Baxi’s Preston factory, we can easily include the additional requirements of the British market, delivering to our customers the features they love consistently across the range. In the UK, installers told us that they valued the simple pressure gauge and have been a little disappointed that it was removed on our latest range - until now!”

The 400, 600, and 800 boiler ranges are compatible with a variety of complementary accessories to help installers comply with the latest regulations, including the Baxi Easy-Flue.

The Baxi Easy-Flue has an internal fit telescopic flue and can be fitted safely and quickly by one person from inside the property, reducing the need for ladders. The multi-lip weather seal protects the flue installation from any rainwater ingress helping meet Part L building regulations. The Baxi uSense 2 is a simple to use smart room thermostat. Controlled via Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri or the My Baxi App, it provides monitored energy usage for heating and hot water.

Coming with a five year parts and labour warranty, the Baxi 400 forms part of Baxi’s comprehensive product lineup, sitting alongside the 600 and 800 ranges, which offer 7 and 10 year warranties, respectively.
