The Grant Air Source Heat Pump System Design course and the Aerona 290 Air Source Heat Pump installer course are now open for bookings, which further develops the breadth of Grant UK’s heat pump training. These one-day courses, which are both free of charge, expand Grant UK’s existing heat pump course catalogue that includes the Aerona³ heat pump product training course and OFTEC heat pump qualifications and assessments.
The Aerona 290 Air Source Heat Pump course is suited for installers, with the course including the construction and operation of the new Aerona 290 heat pump models. Alongside the specification and performance of the Aerona 290 units, this training course also covers the Aerona Smart heat pump system controller, electrical wiring, control system configuration, installation, commissioning and servicing as well as fault finding. The course, which combines theory learning with hands on, practical training, also covers safe practice and protective zones when working with R290 refrigerant.
Meanwhile, the Grant Air Source Heat Pump System Design course provides domestic heating and renewable installers training on the basics of system design for Grant heat pumps. The content of this course has been taken from the previous Grant Aerona³ two-day course and installers will learn about heat loss calculations, heat pump selection, emitter sizing and selection, pipe sizing and pressure loss calculation, system types, and sound level calculation for MCS020. The course purely focuses on system design and it includes worked examples for installers to transfer their theory learning into practice in the classroom.
Alongside these two new courses, there will also be a one-day Grant Aerona³ Air Source Heat Pump installer course that will focus solely on the Aerona³ air source heat pump models, Grant UK’s award-winning heat pump range using R32 refrigerant. The course will cover the Aerona³ heat pump construction, principles of operation, electrical wiring, controller settings as well as installation, commissioning and servicing requirements.
Phil Stanley, Training Manager at Grant UK, said: “We hope our new heat pump training courses, as well as the changes to our current Aerona³ heat pump course, will be welcomed by installers and heating engineers.
“Installers can choose to attend the course or courses which are most relevant to them, either completing one of the one-day courses, or completing a combination of courses as they wish. Our intention has been to make our face-to-face heat pump training as flexible as possible, with installers given the choice to tailor their learning according to their requirements.”
