Energy company EDF is offering its gas customers the opportunity to purchase a new boiler through BOXT.

EDF's Smart Home Store is providing an exclusive offer for its customers who can claim a free smart lighting kit from Philips when they purchase a new boiler through BOXT.

Director of Innovation and Blue Lab at EDF, Jean-Benoit Ritz, said: “We’re proud to partner with innovative businesses that can help EDF customers save time, money and reduce their emissions. BOXT has built a reputation for excellent customer service combined with value for money and energy efficient products which is in line with the ethos of EDF.”

Commenting on the deal, BOXT co-founder Andy Kerr, added: “One of the many advantages of smart home technology is its ability to conserve energy.

“From monitoring your energy use, to reducing energy consumption through automation, a few simple gadgets can help you in lowering the amount you use and provide you with the capability to lessen your carbon footprint and environmental impact of your home.

“We feel this is a very natural partnership and brilliant opportunity.”

The company is raising up to £20 million to be used to double the company’s army of smart home installers to 2,000, expand internationally and introduce a raft of new smart home products over the next 12 months.
