Ariston has announced its endorsement of the Heating and Hotwater Industry Council’s Installers First initiative, which aims to unite Gas Safe-registered engineers and help voice their opinions on industry issues.

Installers First is a community of heating engineers, which provides installers with information and the opportunity to help shape regulation and policy by making sure their voices are heard.

Alex Boweren, Product Manager at Ariston, said: “Installers are the lifeblood of our industry, so it is imperative their voices are heard. The plumbing and heating sector needs to listen to what engineers have to say in order to advance and improve – particularly in terms of government policy, Building Regulations and gas safety awareness. It is fantastic they now have a platform from which to voice and share their opinions on important issues such as training, skills, legislative developments and safety standards.”

Ariston will also be including details of Installers First in its training courses, as well as publishing links to the platform on its website. The company will also be relaying the latest Installers First news and announcements across its social media platforms.

Installers First has spent its infancy gathering support and information from across the industry, and has now identified three key ambitions. The first is to review and improve the current entry routes into the industry and ensure training meets the needs of installers.

Secondly, it endeavours to ensure all engineers are Gas Safe-registered and improve consumer awareness of the Gas Safe Register. Finally, the community aims to increase focus on driving up standards across the industry, with safety viewed as paramount.
