A business in Cumbernauld has been able to grow thanks to a scheme that has already helped 5,000 Scottish households to reduce their energy bills and make their homes more energy efficient.

Warmworks Scotland delivers the Scottish government’s Warmer Homes Scotland scheme to households across the country, and Omega Electrical is among those 30 installers to have helped transform people’s lives so far.

Warmworks, a £224m joint venture between the Energy Saving Trust, Everwarm and Changeworks, has helped create more than 300 new jobs, including 60 apprenticeships, across the country – with all those working to carry out home improvements paid at minimum the Living Wage.

Stephen Bain of Omega Electrical said: “Omega has been working on the scheme since the very start and we’re proud to have been part of such a successful effort so far. Seeing the impact of the scheme, and being able to provide additional training and development opportunities to our staff, has been great for business morale.”
