The 'plumbers of tomorrow' are being sought as part of a new competition launched by property maintenance firm aspect.co.uk.

In 2012, aspect.co.uk introduced an Unemployment Bootcamp concept, where long-term unemployed young people are tested for literacy, numeracy and physical endurance in order to gain an apprenticeship with the firm. Now, the company is offering the winner of this latest competition up to £2,500 towards the cost of a plumbing diploma.

"aspect.co.uk is committed to helping the next generation of plumbers realise their dreams," said aspect.co.uk boss Will Davies.

With the skills shortage in the property industry still highlighted as a 'crisis' to experts in the field, Mr Davies came up with this new competition which, he said, guarantees prospective plumbers get the skills they need.

"At aspect.co.uk we have hundreds of plumbers and other engineers who know first-hand how hard it can be to fund yourself through the necessary qualifications while balancing other commitments. That’s why we’d love to help the next generation," he added.
